Talk Rugged Ep.13 Highlight Ultra-Efficient Edge AI Acceleration at COMPUTEX 2025
[New Taipei City, Taiwan – June 2025]
At COMPUTEX 2025, C&T Solution Inc. and AI acceleration innovator Axelera AI shared insights on next-generation edge AI computing during an exclusive interview at the C&T booth.
Participants included Jordy Hsu, Product Marketing Manager at C&T, with Alexis, Chief Marketing Officer, and Steven, Engineer from Axelera AI.
The discussion introduced Axelera’s breakthrough AI accelerator cards, which deliver exceptional performance in a compact, energy-efficient footprint perfect for rugged industrial edge computers such as those designed by C&T.
Axelera’s accelerator achieves up to 214 TOPS while consuming only 4 to 7 watts enabling customers to run powerful AI inference locally while keeping energy use low, a critical advantage for edge deployments in industrial environments, robotics, smart cities, and mobile systems.
The interview also explored Axelera’s flexible architecture, designed to stay ahead of evolving AI trends:
“We’re going to have to be ready for whatever comes next,” said Alexis. “From a hardware perspective, our goal is to be as flexible as possible. We designed our chip to do matrix math better than anything highly optimized. So as long as future AI models rely on matrix math, we can give developers the flexibility they need.”
Another highlight was how Axelera complements GPU-based systems with optimized data transfer paths between GPUs and Axelera accelerators enabling hybrid architectures where GPUs handle graphics workloads while Axelera drives AI inference.
The conversation also touched on current market trends, especially the rise of Agent AI and Agentic AI, where local edge processing is essential for real-time responsiveness, privacy, and autonomy.
Now through this collaboration, C&T’s rugged industrial computers and edge AI servers can be paired with Axelera M.2 and PCIe AI accelerator cards—providing powerful, flexible, and energy-efficient AI acceleration for a wide range of applications.
