    • The CT-DWL01's design allows for secure installation in kiosk machines, ensuring reliable power supply connections, peripheral integration, and ease of testing and maintenance.

    Background

In the field of technological innovation, a significant collaboration has emerged between event management companies and facial detection systems, leading to transformative advancements. Facial detection technology offers multiple benefits for event management, revolutionizing their operational strategies. By incorporating facial detection, event organizers can:

    • Improve security by accurately identifying individuals and preventing unauthorized access, ensuring attendee safety and reducing security risks.
    • Streamline the check-in process, making entry faster and more efficient.
    • Personalize experiences for attendees, tailoring the event to their preferences and interests.
    • Gather valuable analytics on the audience, aiding in data-driven decision-making.
    • Facilitate contactless interactions, enhancing hygiene and convenience.
    • Create enhanced marketing and sponsorship opportunities, leveraging personalized data.

    The Challenge

The customer had specific needs when searching for a hardware solution, including sufficient processing capabilities, necessary I/O communication, compact size, and durability to withstand outdoor temperatures. The primary concerns were the device's power consumption and its ability to operate effectively in outdoor conditions, especially under prolonged exposure to sunlight. The challenge encompassed six key areas:

    • Power Requirement of 24VDC
    • Two Independent Display Support
    • Operating Temperature of 60° C
    • GPIO Communication
    • Flexible Memory & Disk Configuration
    • Full Linux Operating System

For the customer, while power and operating temperature were vital, data communication was more important. They required support for two independent displays: one for the application's front-end display and the other for analysis purposes. Additionally, they needed a fully functional GPIO connector to connect all necessary sensors for operating the application.

    The Solution

The customer evaluated various Single-Board Computer solutions but ultimately chose C&T after discovering that other options fell short in meeting all their criteria. C&T’s CT-DWL01 3.5-inch Industrial SBC fulfilled all of the customer's requirements. C&T responded to the customer's need for immediate availability by introducing the CT-DWL01 and also providing sample units for the customer to test with their application.
